The Cybersecurity market is set to grow: as a result, we can expect to see a boom in jobs for cybersecurity experts in the coming years. After all, digital transformation and the consequent need to protect infrastructure, processes and personal data are already priorities for companies. Awareness of the advantages of digitization for business is increasing in every sector, but also of how Cybersecurity cannot be an optional field. Digital and data security In recent years, due to technological evolution on one hand and economic and social circumstances on the other, including, first and foremost, the coronavirus pandemic, the use of digitization of processes and activities has become more widespread. This is a priority for companies, which are pushed to implement innovation in order to pursue objectives such as maintaining competitiveness on the international market, guaranteeing operational continuity even in the context of lockdown, opening up new business opportunities and, in general, making their services more efficient. As the use of digital tools has increased, so has the risk of cybersecurity. And the trend is destined to grow further. As an example, taking the financial sector as a concrete case, according to the report "Cyber threats to Financial Organizations in 2022" by Kaspersky, a company specializing in cybersecurity solutions, in 2022 there will be an increase in info stealers, malicious programs aimed at stealing data and, in general, a growth in Trojans targeting home banking. It's just one example, specific to a particular industry, but it gives a clear idea of the trend ahead. Not only that. European legislation on privacy and data protection, primarily represented by the European GDPR regulation, requires that all necessary technical and organizational measures be taken to protect personal data and that the principle of "privacy by design" be implemented, i.e. that privacy be considered from the design of a service or process. Failure to comply with the regulations entails not only possible risks from data breaches, but also significant penalties. Therefore, in this scenario in which the increase of digital transformation in the productive sectors goes hand in hand with the growth of Cyber risks, and international regulations require adequate security measures to protect data, the market responds by asking for more experts in the field. It is no coincidence that the most important companies active in the ICT sector expect significant investments in Cybersecurity in the next five years. Why should you look for a job in cybersecurity? For a recent graduate or an already established professional or even a worker eager to reskill or upskill, this context offers interesting opportunities for their career. It is not essential to be technical with a scientific background. The Cybersecurity market, in addition to specific positions dedicated to engineers and computer scientists, offers access to challenging jobs even for those with a different educational background. This is because a holistic approach to the subject of cybersecurity is welcomed, whereby all skills can bring added value in achieving the goal of securing one's business. The key to making the most of your experience and cultural background is a training program designed specifically for entry into the world of work in this area. Facing a period of study and practice, guided by experts in the field that introduce future candidates to the needs of companies and the context of security, is an opportunity to grow as professionals. In this way, you will have all the necessary tools to actively participate in a field that is destined to be increasingly relevant in the future.
