Can you tell us a little bit about your background and why you choose to do this UX Design Online Bootcamp?

I studied Art History and Cultural Management but was working as an English teacher for the last 8 years. I decided I had to find my way back to my creative roots and started searching for options. I stumbled upon UX Design and started looking for ways to learn more. I wanted a course that was in Vienna and offered a mix of theory and practical experiences. I liked that Talent Garden kept the groups small and offered a real-world project to work on during the course. I also wanted a course that offered help with building a portfolio and carrier advice and networking opportunities. Talent Garden had all of these and much more!

What was it like to study at the Talent Garden Innovation School?

I expected to learn a lot during the 12-week Bootcamp and to be pushed creatively. I was not disappointed! The experts came with real-world examples from their years of experience and really challenged us to think outside of the box.

Can you tell us about your classmates, faculty and the people you met while attending the course?

I feel like I did join a community with Talent Garden. Everyone, from the course administration to the experts, was so friendly and supportive. They truly want you to succeed and were willing to go above and beyond to make our experience a great one! I made so many new friends too (8 to be exact)! It has been so lovely to get to know everyone in the course and to follow our carrier paths. I hope we get to work together again in the future.

What was your favourite part of the UX Online Bootcamp?

My favourite part of the Bootcamp was the group project. My group was so much fun and we learned so much from the project, but also from each other.

What advice would you give to new students starting this course?

If like me, you are completely new to design, I would recommend doing a few design program tutorials before the course begins. Figma, Sketch (Lunacy for Windows), Adobe XD are good places to start! You could also read some articles about UX Design on nngroup.com .

What is life like now after doing the UX Design Online Bootcamp?

I am currently looking for a job in UX Design and am feeling positive about my future in this field. I am extremely proud that I did this course with two small children, a household to manage, and all during a worldwide pandemic! I am still in touch with all of my fellow classmates, most of the experts and course administration and am looking forward to being able to meet and network with everyone in person soon!
