It’s no secret that we have a thing for Lithuania. After four years in the country’s second-biggest city, Kaunas, we are now expanding to Vilnius. Lithuania’s capital is among the busiest startup scenes of the Baltics. Recent growth successes include companies like Vinted, Deeper, and Transfergo, while there is no shortage of talent for tomorrow’s scale-ups. The city attracts the majority of Lithuania’s tech specialists.
Here, the founders enjoy smooth infrastructure and business-friendly legislation. Lithuania has the third-lowest company tax in Europe, while income tax is the second-lowest. Recently, the city has been strengthened as a global hub too. Government programs granting visas to growth companies and their employees is on the rise. Last year the country received 178 applications for a Startup Visa, a 41% jump from the year before.
At our new Vilnius campus, we want to gather all the players in this ecosystem and be an entry point for newcomers. The building in Old Town offers workspaces for 230+ professionals, bringing together young and established businesses, freelancers, and public institutions.
“We want to create value by connecting all these different players. We know this approach works - from our first location in Kaunas and Talent Garden’s network across Europe. Now, we are here to support collaboration across the innovation community in Vilnius,” says Artūras Bulota, Chief Marketing Officer at Talent Garden Lithuania.
Aside from being a platform for a strengthened community, Talent Garden Vilnius will be a resource of inspirational content. Lithuania is the home for a number of individual tech clusters, notably fintech, but proptech and blockchain are also on the rise.
“We want to offer high-quality updates on what is happening within these clusters,” says Bulota.
His team will prioritize live events at the 150-seat conference hall inside the space. The members will be active contributors. The Lithuanian Business Angel Network (LitBAN) that has a base at the campus will organize open events linked to the future investment landscape.
LitBAN’s Managing Director, Daiva Jankauskaitė, sees the partnership as a way to bring business angels closer to the entrepreneurial community.
“The desire to unite professionals and create high-quality content in an innovative and modern workspace is the perfect chance for both startups and investors to be a part of this new and exciting venture,” she says.
